I live alone so I use a 5 cup Mr. Coffee type coffeemaker.  Works for me.  Makes about 2.5 large mugs.

Even though you have a 12 cup coffeemaker, you don't have to make it's full capacity.  You can brew half a batch at a time.

@Marybella @PinkyPetunia .. I'm another Mr. Coffee user.  I use the 5 cup that sells for $25 on Amazon.  I've been using that for years.  No plastic cups to recycle (which are expensive).

Re: Single Serve Coffee Maker

you can use whatever pods you want with the Keurig.  I prefer McCafe.  You can also buy a refillable pod at Walmart.  I've done both.

Re: Single Serve Coffee Maker

We have a tiny Mr Coffee maker--just makes 4 cups --good old fashion brand, nothing fancy, cheap and does just fine. I don't drink coffee but DD drinks decaf--I bought her a Kuerig a few yeas ago--about $100  then and it was a piece of garbage--made horrible coffee no matter what she tried to do. Trashed it within a year and I bought this Mr Coffee. Now at her job, there is a Nespresso and she says it is far superior to Kuerig.

My Keurig mini came with arefillable pod, though I haven't used it. As the pods become more expensive, I'm going start using it when I next need to purchase coffee.

I have a 12 cup drip maker.  Mr. coffee.  I make 6-8 cups every morning.  (Maybe 3.5 mugs).  Works for me.  Keeps it hot for 1.5 hours.  If there is any left (maybe one mug), I microwave it later in the day.  I think it was $20 or $25.

We use a Cuisinart TTG (Two to Go) coffee maker with the #2 Melita filters.  We didn't like it with the gold filter that's provided and found off brand coffee filters from Amazon plugged up the machine.

That being said, it can only be found on ebay at this point as it's so old. I believe there are about 19 new ones listed. It shuts off automatically.  I think we're on our 4th one plus I have a spare new one tucked away.

We have this Ninja single serve coffee maker. You can either use pods or grounds, change the size of the cup you want to make and it has a frother. A plus is it is very thin so doesn't take up much room on the counter.

Now truthfully, I have never made a cup of coffee with this maker, but my husband seems to like it.😄

I was just coming here to recommend this very coffee machine! I have this exact model by Ninja and highly recommend it.  I drink one cup a day and this meets my needs perfectly.  If you don't want to buy "Kcups" you can make one cup of drip coffee with loose grounds.  I've used it both ways and was happy with the results. I brew the 8oz cup size but there are also 6oz and 10oz choices. It's very well designed, with everything stored on or in the machine.

our keurig is on it's last leg and this is the one i would like to try. Looks like it has some variety in size, strength, etc. Does anyone use the frother? I have $30 in kohl's cash burning a hole in my pocket, so i think i will get it.
