OK - looking for input.  I live in a single "human" household so I think that purchasing the stand mixer might be over the top.  Are there any other single human household people here that have a stand mixer and if so are you glad that you have one?  Thanks in advance for your input.

What does being single have to do with owning a stand mixer?

Re: Single Person Household - KitchenAid Stand Mixer

I always have a Kitchenaid  stand mixer regardless of if it's just me or more in the family. It's the best long term time saver you can have in that room. If you only use it mash postatoes or mix cookies at Christmas it is worth it. This TSV is a great deal because I had to buy the flat edge blade as an extra. At that time it was $40.

You can use a mixer for as much or as little as you want to do in it. It will last longer than most appliances so it is money well spent and with the free s&H.

Hope you enjoy your's as much as I do mine.

Phrasing it that way is odd.  I think the determining factor is how often the human cooks and what type of cooking the human does.  How many people live in the house is irrelevant.

Re: Single Person Household - KitchenAid Stand Mixer

There are just two of us and several years ago I thought about getting a stand mixer.  I have a KA hand mixer.  I asked my BF if she thought I'd use it enough to justify getting one.   She asked me how often I use my hand mixer and I said maybe once a year.  She said , 'there's your answer'.   I still don't have one.

I don't bake or make bread or do any of the things that most people use there's for.   So, I think it depends more on your cooking than being a single household.

Re: Single Person Household - KitchenAid Stand Mixer

I am a household of one and I have had my KA stand mixer since the mid-90s. I use it all of the time to bake cakes and bread especially since the pandemic started.

If you're considering whether it's right for you, consider how often you would use it and whether a hand mixer would be more suitable to your needs. Even though I have a stand mixer, sometimes I use my hand mixer if it's easier.

I owned a KA even when I was single; I loved to bake.

I live in a single person household and I love to cook but I don't like to bake so I just have a hand mixer.
