The Federal Trade Commission has sued Sensa (the "shake and lose weight" company due to lack of scientific evidence that their product works.

While I haven't tried it (I prefer to eat less, move more), I appreciate the theory of it.

Sensa stimulates a hormone that tells the brain it's full. Unfortunately, many people don't stop eating just because they are no longer hungry.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever tried Sensa?

A lot of weight loss things are out there that say "scientific evidence" that they work, but it is not backed by "medical" or "FDA approved for weight loss" as a weight loss additive that works.........Wink

The thing is, it could work, based on the theory: the brain will trick the body into thinking it is full!

I didn't read the details; I saw it on the news.

Sensa or no, if I have Duck Fat Fries in front of me, I will stop eating when they are gone.

I have some sense in my cabinet. Does it work? for me, yes. Could it be mind over matter - not sure.

I do think the FDA could be doing a MUCH BETTER job if they regulated food labels, meat and produce! The grocery store is a tricky place...

Sensa was one of the biggest diet scams ever created. It was shameless. Some people believed it worked because they wanted to believe. But, it wasn't dangerous, it didnt hurt anyone. There are many other things out there that just as misleading as Sensa. I don't think it's fair to hold Sensa to a higher standard.
