Seasoning for Collard Greesns?

I ate at a buffet for lunch today and had the best seasoned collard greens. These were definitely the canned variety but tasted almost like the fresh. I could taste some vinegar but don't have any idea of how to season them otherwise; there was no hint of anything other than seasonings. Nobody there could help me.

Would appreciate any ideas; I usually don't like any greens directly from the can but I would have been happy to have just a plateful of these greens for lunch they were that good.
