You can buy a box of different flavors from King Arthur Baking Company for $9.00 and make them yourself and they're pretty good.

And you still have to bake these.  I assume the product is worth about half the price and the rest is the dry ice and shipping charges.

I do not recall where I very recently heard that on average the cost to ship refrigerated or frozen foods is $27-$30 per package.

What is good for the goose today will also be good for the gander tomorrow.

All foods are not created equal. Buy what is in your budget, but others like the high end foods. Out of curiosity I went to Goldbelly to see what many different outlets charge. What QVC is charging is what I saw on Goldbelly.

They should not say 'free shipping.'  They should say, 'Shipping and handling are included in the price.'  It's called honesty. 

 

They should also say '$50.00,' instead of $49.99, less than $50.  Legally, they are within their rights and the mind reads and retains from left to right, but we're not stupid.
