For any sardine lovers out there, they are really good with quinoa! We had some leftover quinoa in the fridge and I used some with a tin of King Oscar Mediterranean style sardines (lots of pieces of black olives and a slightly spicy oil) and they were SO good!
Yes, I know sardines skeeve some of you out, but if you like them, this is a great combination!
I had it along with a big side salad with arugula, Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, bell peppers, chopped mint leaves, thyme, oregano leaves and chives with lemon and lime juice was the perfect lunch!

Have never tasted sardines----supposed to be very good for you--my Swedish dad used to go get kipper snacks during Xmas time and cook scrambled eggs using them---I loved that. I would try your salad tho.

Never cared for those but I like smoked oysters in the tin which probably gross some people out.

@spumoni99 OH how I love those, but I haven't seen any not from China recently! I always had them on New Year's Eve in the "olden" days.

My dad always shared those with me, we each had a toothpick. I wouldn't want them from China either.

I cannot stand to eat sardines but I can eat canned salmon, Starkist wild pink salmon. I take it out and brown it in a pan until it's sort of crispy on the outside.

@Sooner I like sardines, but they have to be small and I cut off
the tails. I only buy King Oscar. I prefer them packed in water, but I do have some in oil. I wouldn't like a spicy oil. They are packed in Poland and are wild caught. The tin doesn't state wher theyare caught.
I have only eaten them on saltine crackers, but I would like to try something different. I never ate quinoa, that may be something to try.

@Enufstuff We really like quinoa. We buy the white quinoa and you won't have to rinse most of them. You boil it 15 minutes, let it sit 5 more and it's cooked. We get it from Costco but it is a big bag.
It is supposed to be really good for you and we use it as a base for tuna salads, chicken salads, etc.

I like sardines packed in mustard. It grosses my husband out.
I like Quinoa too. I started to eat it because it is gluten free.
