Thanx @Mz iMac !

I've never heard of putting ketchup on sardines, but it makes sense - always use ketchup with fish and chips.

@QVCkitty1 thank you.

I've been eyeing Walmart salads but haven't taken the plunge yet. Good to know, I will try one soon.

I get Walmart grocery delivery and today I got a real treat. Once in a while I order a pre-made salad. This one is the Marketside Farmhouse with chicken and bacon. The salad includes tomatoes, sunflower seeds ,romaine lettuce croutons crumbles and buttermilk dressing. From time to time it's nice to have a grab and go and this one was delicious.

@QVCkitty1 That sounds good to me especially the grab and go part and the sunflower seeds and buttermilk dressing!  We keep romaine heads--use one for salad for the two of us.  We got spray bottles and have olive oil, avocado oil and balsamic vinerar in them to make a quick dressing the lazy way.  Isn't romaine so good?

We often put leftover rotisserie chicken or tuna on top of ours, and lately have added diced apple (very good with the tuna) or peach or nectarine when they are about to get too old!  Woman Embarassed

Now you have made me hungry!!!!Woman LOL  But it is a sardine on Dave's Bread lunch for me today.

@Sooner   -  OT:

When I was a little girl I used to love "sarbean" sandwiches.  (I was so young I couldn't even pronounce sardineWoman LOL.)  Anyways, I would often ask my Dad to make me a "sarbine" sandwich.

Haven't had one in years.  The thought of just putting on same sardines out of the can doesn't really appeal to me nowadays.  Could you recommend some appealing condiments to add so this old 'little' girl can enjoy something from the past - soo long ago?

TIA

@eddyandme Love, love love sardines...I eat a tin probably 2x a week...20 grams of protein and good omega 3s. I eat with whole wheat crackers I get at Sprouts or put them in my green salads with a diced hard boiled egg, quartered red new potatoes (sort of a Niçoise salad). Sometimes I just use the olive oil they come packed in as the dressing.

I'm not a lettuce/greens lover, so rarely eat house type salads.  I do like potato salad, macaroni salad, pea salad, broccoli salad, etc.
