I got one of the Sencor toasters a couple years ago that looks very much like the Smeg.  I got a beautiful turquoise.  They periodically replenish with new colors.  It has been a very good toaster.  Sure beats the Smeg price.

I have to admit that I never knew toasters could be so expensive.   I find that Black & Decker one more attractive than the others, especially those with the garish designs.

When my last toaster died I never replaced it.  Maybe if I made toast every day I would consider it.  But, as it is, I just use the convection oven.  It takes about 6.5 minutes but I just get it in first and then pull out the plate, knife, butter, jam or pb, etc, and before I know it it's done.

I recently looked at a Smeg dishwasher. i really liked it until I spoke to the salesman.  He said they are great until they need repaired. Since they are manufactured in Italy, parts are difficult to get.

Some people have been waiting for over a year for the parts to be sent.

I do not have a healthy history with dishwashers and they don't last very long, so that was a no for me.

@KCDiva. I've :gpt the pink meg toaster and love it:  best toaster I've ever had!

It's the four-slice model and it does toast very well.  I know it's expensive, but use it a lot and once-in-awhile it' good to splurge. imhoWoman Wink!

I've also got a Westbend four-slice toaster with egg/bacon cooker attachment.  Got that one for downstairs and after many years it's still working - almost as good as the SMEG.

My vintage chrome toaster looks a lot like the Smeg. I paid $1 at a garage sale and it works perfectly.  It has the cloth covered cord.

I purchased a red SMEG toaster as a big splurge. I wanted something beautiful sitting on my counter. It works very well and I've had it 2 years now.

I hadn't had a toaster in decades, always used my toaster oven. However, my toaster oven takes over 5 minutes for toast and I got tired of that.
