SMEG appliances now at QVC (@sharke!)

[ Edited ]

I noticed a bunch of SMEG appliances in today's batch of new Q inventory . . . even if no one else is interested, I'm pretty sure @SharkE will be all over the red ones if her kitchen isn't full to the brim yet.  Smiley Wink

They do have pretty things.

I've looked at the blender, but it's rather pricey for the power (600W).  $50 for my 800W Oster vs. $249 for the Smeg.  I do keep it on the counter and my unit is a nice metallic gray, which matches my counter color, but I'd absolutely love it in the Smeg pastel blue or cream.

Is that brand very high quality to warrant the high price or is it the retro look and color that attracts people to the brand? I never heard of it.

@blackhole99 - I'd say it's the combination of all those things. Here's a link to the company website if you want to learn more: https://www.smegusa.com/about-smeg/

I was going to get a SMEG tea kettle, but after reading the reviews

at amazon and Williams Sonoma I’m not buying. Their products are now made in China, and while they are beautiful, their electric tea kettles contain plastic parts that break and the coating inside flakes off. Everytime a company starts saving money by manufacturing in China, the products are no longer quality made.  Hopefully not all SMEG products are made in China.

The reviews on Amazon are not very favorable.
