Anyone know why the Q stopped the sale of Savannahs Kitchen. I bought that German chocolate cake 6-8 in one year. crazy I know but it was the best I've ever had homemade or others. I don't bake :-). so this was my guilty pleasure. I can order it directly from Savannahs but s&h hurts & of course no easy pay. Oh well I'm ordering one next payday:-)

I am sorry, I can't answer your question (it does look like everything has been taken off though), but I completely understand the guilty pleasure part, been there done that. I went and looked at it on their website and it does look good, but I am curious though, what is it that makes it so wonderful and how is the frosting. The reason I ask, is we are no longer near the place that had our favorite best German chocolate cake we ever had. The cake was not overly chocolatey and the frosting was rich, buttery and not overly/sickeningly sweet (like all the others we have had). It was perfect. I have even tried to find a recipe for not overly sweet frosting for German chocolate cake, not much luck though.

They actually do not charge shipping, and you can buy one get one at 1/2 off, and if you call them, you can mix and match on the cakes, so you do not have to buy 2 of the same cakes........ I just received my latest shipment.........

I have been there on several occasions in their River Street location in Savannah, and I have asked them to PLEASE ship their gelato...... I bake all the time, and never eat what I bake, but sometimes I want something that I do not have to make for myself, and order from them...........Their Praline cake is wonderful as well, and not too sweet, and my favorite is the Hummingbird Cake, and their Strawberry Cake......They do make their pralines on a marble slab, and they make salt water taffy galore in every flavor you can imagine......No easy pay agreed, but no S&H, and you can call and get what you want.......
