Re: Ruth Chris Seafood Tower

The BEST for steak!!  I have been to King of Prussia, Pa and twice in Atlantic City, NJ. The greatest in service is a plus also.  If they still had it here in the Charleston SC area I would go in a heart beat!  Well worth the price and OH, taste soooooo good.

I feel the same, I think it just depends what we are willing to spend our money on.  For me I like to cook and its so easy to buy a really great cut of meat and throw it on the grill, plus I enjoy being comfortable at home.

We do have one locally and I have never been but we have purchased gift cards for my daughters coach in high school, he enjoyed dining there.

We don't have a Ruth Chris in my neck of the woods. I did eat at one back in the 90's in Mexico. It was wonderful.

Re: Ruth Chris Seafood Tower

I've only been to Ruth's Chris one time several years ago on a business trip in NC. There was about 10 of us that went down to visit a vendor's facility. Their sales people took us out to dinner and there was about 8 of them, so about 18 of us total. We had a private room, and we were told to order carte blanche. OH MY STARS it was FABULOUS!!! One of the best steaks I've ever had. I know the dinner was a business expense for them, but I can't imagine what the tab was for that dinner!

Do they still have the girl on the swing?  She was very high up near the high ceiling, swinging in a long arc.   I was a nervous wreck, worried that she would fall off that swing. I don't even remember the food, except that it was very expensive

Is that girl on the swing you are thinking about the one at Old San Francisco Steakhouse? She would kick the cow bell attached to the ceiling with her foot. I like the big block of cheese they bring out before the meal.

Ruth's Chris is a quiet restaurant and more reserved than Old San Francisco Steakhouse.

Re: Ruth Chris Seafood Tower

When my better half worked there, we learned during that first weekend that all of the sauces and sides are frozen or pre-packaged/powdered. That instantly scratched Ruth's Chris off our dining list.

For the price you pay as a customer when you dine there, to be fed boxed and powdered food is really not right. Their steaks may be OK, but part of your meal will come from a box or envelope.
