I've learned tht having coffee with rum cake is traditional.  Do you know of other ways to enjoy it?

Never ever heard of this.  And I've had a lot of rum cakes in my life.

I would think coffee would go well with any dessert.

I make and serve Italian Rum Cakes made with custard and whipped cream and almonds .  We serve them at adult birthday parties after dinner.

Good with coffee/tea or whatever.

This was my father's favorite cake.

Before I quit drinking ( 2017) I used to enjoy a tumbler of rum with my coffee cake!!!

Years ago I had a recipe made w/a bundt cake mix. After baking and cooling,holes were poked in the top of the cake and a mixture of rum, sugar and orange juice was put over the top. That sure tasted good w/coffee.

I make a Butter Pecan Rum Cake every Christmas...

It's delicious with a scoop of either Butter Pecan, Coffee, or French Vanilla ice cream.

Of course, it can always be served plain and enjoyed with a fresh, hot cup of coffee too.

To me the only thing a good rum cake needs is a fork.  And sometimes, and depending on the situation, it doesn't even need the fork. . .

@Sooner. I'm right there with you. I love Jamaican (black) rum cake. At least three friends bake it so I've been eating it every week.

No fork needed. Just a napkin and away we go. It's so good.
