Hello,
I have been reading the posts about Fiestaware and have noticed comments about how rough and abrasive the unglazed ring on the bottom of the pieces is. It seriously scratches other pieces of the Fiestaware and also tables, etc. The owners are placing paper towels or coffee filters, etc. between the pieces.
I collect and use Polish Stoneware. I have learned from others, who post on the QVC PS forum, that if you use medium and then fine sandpaper when you first receive your pieces, you will not have such a problem. I do that all of the time now when my box arrives from Q or other PS vendors. I believe it would work for Fiestware just as well.
Hope that helps you...sue-p
