Recs for an electric skillet?

I've been using my mother's electric skillet (Sunbeam) that has to be 40+ years old - it has finally died. I"m looking at a Cuisinart - does anyone have any experience with it? I've always had good luck with Cuisinart (I have their ice cream maker, single cup coffee brewer, coffee bean burr grinder and a coffee maker) but I wonder if there is a better make out there?
