Recipe for Ninja Cooking System

Bob and David did a presentation with the Ninja Cooking System that involved uncooked fetttuccine, alfredo sauce, frozen chicken, and frozen broccoli. I have looked everywhere for the recipe David mentioned it was in the book or on QVC online but I cannot find it! It looked amazing! Can anyone help?

Thank You

Cavatelli Chicken Broccoli Alfredo (Ninja Cookbook Recipe)

Ingredients:

1 tbsp canola or olive oil

1 package (about 14 oz) frozen cavatelli

4 cups of broccoli florets

1 jar (15 ozs) Alfredo sauce

2 cups water

¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Garlic salt & pepper (season to taste)

Directions:

If using Ninja 4-in-1 6 qt. Nonstick Cooking System with Cookbook and Accessories

  • Pour oil in pot
  • Set to Stovetop high and heat oil
  • Cut chicken into 1-2” cubes
  • Place chicken in pot
  • Season with garlic salt and pepper
  • Cook uncovered 5 mins turning chicken to brown on all sides
  • Stir in 2 cups of hot water, cavatelli, broccoli florets, sauce (I used spaghetti)
  • Set Stovetop to Medium
  • Cover and cook 20 minutes until cavatelli and broccoli are tender
  • Stir in cheese just before serving

Prep time is about 5 mins, cook time is about 25 mins… servings: 4

I used 3 cups of water and watched it so if I needed more water I could add some.

Re: Recipe for Ninja Cooking System

This was the first recipe I tried when I got my new Ninja Cooking System.  I took a chance and actually doubled it.  It was delicious.

I've never hearrd of Cavatelli, is the chicken in it?  The recipe says to cook the chicken, but there's no amount & I don't see it anywhere in the ingredient list.  What am I missing here?

Re: Recipe for Ninja Cooking System

Cavatelli is a pasta. I use it often when making pasta salad. I have never seem it frozen though. I am going to try this recipe but boil the pasta and toss it in the end.

Re: Recipe for Ninja Cooking System

You can find frozen cavatelli near or next to the frozen bags of ravioli in your local supermarket.  The chicken is not in the cavatelli.  I believe it was mistakenly left off of the ingredient list when the recipe was copied.  When I made this, I picked up one of those ready to eat rotisserie chickens from the market and cubed the meat to include in the recipe.  You could easily cube and cook boneless, skinless chicken breast that you have cut into bite sized pieces. If you don't feel like cooking the chicken, yet another option would be to grab a couple packages of those Perdue Shortcuts that are also already prepared and cut those up.
