Can I just say that I'm so tired of hosts spiels - especially the pitch to open QVC credit card. It's a hard sell to open a credit card that can only be used at QVC.

Also don't think you can call yourself a "foodie" if there is an entire category of food you don't eat. I have never seen David or Rachel B. eat any fish.

QVC store card is a revenue stream and will probably be marketed as products moving forward.  That's why you're hearing enticements like "get an additional 5% of TSV", etc.

@SEGardener : I always thought a "foodie" was one that had knowledge of foods,recipes but not necessarily a taste for all foods.

Maybe they don't like fish or, like my daughter,  they may be allergic to fish.

The QVC and HSN  cards are incredibly important to QVC Group’s financial performance.

The company shares in the interest collected by the card issuer.  And I'm sure it's a quite meaningful amount.

The hosts aren't promoting the card just because they want to or decide to.  It's part of the job.

there's absolutely nothing wrong with a host of not eating the lobster, or any food, for that matter.  If you don't like something- you just don't like it. I feel that way about some foods, and no matter what anyone say, I won't eat it.  Hosts should not be bashed or judged just because they don't like said foods.

 I've always heard the term associated with individuals who are passionate about food - eating, preparing, styling - more inclusionary rather than exclusionary.

@Barks2005 - I think the hosts' employer may have something to say about them doing their jobs.  They do what they're told to, just as any other employee would - if he or she wanted to keep that job.  Woman Frustrated

@Barks2005

Alberti and Rachel won't put Barramundi fish near their mouth.  But hey not everyone eats everything.  I get it. The Q card's extra paltry 5% is not appealing enough for me to want to expose my credit to a ping just to open one.

I wouldn't mind if they stopped them from eating the food entirely.  I think it's way exaggerated and how rude when they open their mouth real wide -put the food in and immediately start Talking.
