Re: Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl

I can't imagine a kitchen that doesn't already have a garbage bowl. I have many.

Re: Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl

I just use a bowl I already have and compost. You should try that, it makes for great garden soil and keeps scraps out of the landfills.

Re: Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl

I was surprised to see it at Walmart because I thought that item was old news and not manufactured anymore.

I have a pretty bowl from Marshall;s that I use for this.

Just wondering if perhaps Dollar store sells bowls that could be used as garbage bowls

Re: Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl

I just love her Garbage bowl, I use it to mix in and also for scraps, I love the orange ..its my favorite color!! Robin I have not seen the red, I bet it would be really pretty!! I never thought of putting a bag in it, Thanks!!

I am not a fan of her cooking shows,I'm more of a Pioneer woman or Christy Jordan, or the Contessa Smiley Happy but i think the bowl is really cute!!

Re: Rachael Ray Garbage Bowl

We already have ""garbage bowls"". We have a sink with a disposer and we have a trash can for the rest. Why would I even consider paying $16.99?

A garbage bowl is for composting type garbage, ie coffee grounds, egg shells, fruit and veggie peels, etc. I have one and keep it right by the kitchen sink and then take out to the garden every couple of days. I dump it out there even in the snow and bury it so that when the snow melts it will be in my veggie garden. I will then till it into the soil in the Spring. My grandfather used to do this for his gardens and he had the most beautiful plants and veggies. I would not use it for cans and regular trash, I have a garbage can that pulls out of my cabinets for that.

I thought of composting too. Sounds like a good idea, any bowl would work probably.
