Quick Question for INSTAPOT owners:

[ Edited ]

I've only made soups and stews in my instapot with the stainless steel insert.

Have any of you who own the same stainless steel instapot used any of the pasta dishes or grain dishes, and is it sticky?  I don't like nonstick pans, but am a little hesitant to make any of the mac and cheese or other pasta dishes that are made for pressure cookers for fear that the stainless steel insert doesn't work the same as the other nonstick pressure cooker version.

Any advice?

I have not done any pasta in it, but have done beans, the pot cleans up very easily. I put mine in the dishwasher.

If you are on Facebook make your way  to the Instant Pot user group, super helpful people who can answer any question

I made Mac and Cheese in my Instapot using Bob Warden's recipe and had no trouble cleaning it. I have used it more than I thought I would. I am going to cook spaghetti squash in it today.

Re: Quick Question for INSTAPOT owners:

I cook a cup of Jasmine rice every morning...no stickiness.

I would suggest not using the warming feature unless there's lots of finished liquid.  If not, it will just dry out & be sticky.  Plus if you're using cheese & milk, there's enough fat in that to negate any stickiness.

I ❤️ My Instapot!!

I love doing hard boiled eggs, have you done those? they are so easy to peel.

Re: Quick Question for INSTAPOT owners:

I've made risotto in my Instant Pot a couple times and had no trouble cleaning the insert at all. I love it!

The recipe from Hip Pressure Cooking is great. I use her method to make mushroom risotto. She includes the mushrooms (or other veggies) in the liquid total so that the ratio of liquid to rice is perfect. I also use carnaroli rice instead of arborio, and it comes out perfectly al dente.
