@SharkE  I think it would be risky.  For one thing, you'd have to mask off everything with precision and that seems very tedious to me.  You could ask an auto painting place if they'd do it.  Even if they could/would, would it be worth the expense?  I'd probably just buy a new mixer if a color change was that important to me.

ETA - If you insist on painting, I'd think about taking the mixer apart (only if you're the kind of person that can reassemble correctly), spray painting the parts that need it, and then reassembling.  Again, tedious and risky.  Understand that any kind of tampering will void your warranty.

Yes you can have them painted--there is someone around my area---who will custom paint them. I wouldn't attempt it on my own.. this lady sand blasts them, then primes them and then will paint a custom design for around $400. Lead time was a few months. I would think a  auto body repair/paint do that too.  Ree Drummond, the pioneer women, use to give away custom painted KA mixers when she was new on the scene.  No, I imagine all the working parts are taped and protected. If I had alot of $$ and something fantastic to customize my mixer----think it would be great!!!  Have seen many incredible examples. I customize my basic white KA with decals--Have an angry pig on it and a sugar skull----Smiley Happy

@SharkE Unless you have a custom color, which you probably do Woman Wink, why not just sell it and get another one?

They sell like hotcakes when used.  So what color are you thinking?  Inquiring minds want to know!

I've got a chrome Cuisinart and wouldn't mind a red or white.

I've been sitting here watching U tube videos on the process and you take everything off that is held with screws, then cover the wiring inside the motor head, even take off the shiny strip plate anything that is held together with screws. Use Rustoleum and one gal said there is an 'appliance ' spray paint just for this purpose Rustoleum , also. go over it with a shiny gloss finish.

Don't guess I'll do it and don't know if I would trust anybody to do it without tearing it up. One of my wild hairs. Maybe this one will break down and I can buy a new one without feeling guilty. LOL

another choice to consider.

I think Cuisinart is better then kitchen aid. you tube has videos and they show how their construction down thru the yrs have went down hill they're

doing things on the cheap and still charging the same.

Cuisinart, is a better machine in my opinion, but, it's hard to find them doing anything in colors.   So sick of black small appliances, chrome mixers and even most of the cars in the show lot are white, black and grey. All have that funeral grey interior, to boot.

When I bought my Kia Sedona (think it is , the SUV) it was green on outside and beige on inside !!!!!!!!!!!!!!    Yay !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was a big selling point for us. Now, I want a mocha shade on outside, like butterscotch shade.

I'll play hale finding it though. I see other people in that color, but, they must custom order them or something.

Yep, have it prepped and primed, then painted. I'd look for an artist who does custom paint work on motorcycle gas tanks (see your Harley dealer) or or other small custom paint.

I think the mixers have an enamel based paint because they can get quite hot when run for a long time. Not sure the acrylic paints would take the heat, but the artist should know this.

I have these on my Kitchen Aid stand mixer.  I had a set with a Pennsylvania Dutch design on it until last summer or fall when I switched to Pioneer Woman.  They are easy to apply and remove clean.
