Question regarding my KitchenAid Mixer

I just received my TSV KitchenAid mixer and have a problem. When I put my flat beater on it touches the bottom of the bowl. I turned the flat headscrew (can not say that word on here) to lower the clearance but it still touches. Has this happened with anyone else?
