The recipe calls for 2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded.
Should I cube up the cheese in order to measure out two cups and then shred it, or do I just look at the cheese block and check its weight and do it that way? Since eight ounces is a cup in liquid measure, can I use 16 ounces as two cups?
I think if the recipe called for two cups shredded cheese, I would shred it first and then measure two cups. The way it's written just causes me to pause, and I wanted to check with the forum. TIA, as always.
