Re: Question for tea drinkers

Big tea drinker here

Recently I have been trying to only purchase organic tea. I am concerned about pesticides used to grow the tea plants - regulations here and in foreign countries is spotty. I feel better knowing it was certified organic (so no pesticides).

This has slightly cut down on my tea choices. At this time my favorites (in order of preference!) are:

1) Harney & Sons loose Assam

2) Yogi Green Tea Lemon Ginger teabags

3) 365 (Whole Foods brand) organic clack tea stringless bags - box of 70 for $3.99!

4) Yogi Chai Black teabags

5) Stash organic Breakfast Blend teabags

My favorite time of day: breakfast with my little red pot holding 2 cups of my tea

Re: Question for tea drinkers

I'm about half and half coffee and tea. For everyday tea I use Salada. It's what I've been drinking all my life.

When I want a special treat, I will have a cup of Constant Comment. I just love the orange-cinnamon flavor.

Re: Question for tea drinkers

My favorite tea is Earl Grey but I like Lady Grey, Breakfast and recently Twinings had a Christmas Tea that was quite pleasant. I like Twinings, Stash, Tazo, any of them really. I do not like any fruit teas, ie. raspberry, etc, as they make me ill. I also recently tried Oolong and it tasted like dirt. My grandmother always had Red Rose tea on hand and I enjoy that on occasion.

Tea is wonderful. I have never been able to drink coffee, so I am glad tea exists.

Oh and for those that would like a little chuckle, check out Coco Peru:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fq4Phcjy4o4

Orange-Earl Grey Iced Tea

Orange-Earl Grey Iced Tea

Get a little pick-me-up with this orange-infused Earl Grey iced tea. Tea is rich in a class of antioxidants called flavonoids that may help reduce your risk of Alzheimer's and diabetes, plus help you have healthier teeth and gums and stronger bones. You can help preserve the flavonoids in iced tea by adding something acidic—like the orange juice in this recipe.

8 servings, about 1 cup each | Active Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 10 minutes (including 2 hours chilling time)

Ingredients

1/4 cup loose Earl Grey tea, or 12 Earl Grey tea bags

Peel of 1 orange, plus orange wedges for garnish

4 cups boiling water

3/4 cup orange juice

1/4 cup sugar

4 cups cold water

Preparation

Steep loose tea (or tea bags) and orange peel in boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes.

Strain the tea (or remove tea bags and orange peel) and pour into a large pitcher. Stir in orange juice and sugar until the sugar is dissolved. Add cold water. Refrigerate until chilled, about 2 hours. Serve over ice with orange wedges, if desired.

Re: Question for tea drinkers

I usually enjoy just a simple black tea -- Lipton or a store brand is fine. I like it over ice unsweetened with a wedge of lemon or hot with a little lemon and sometimes a little sweetener. For flavored hot tea, I love the old classic "Constant Comment" flavored with orange and spice. Smells and tastes so good!
