(and basil)
My huge outdoor parsley plant fell prey to the frost last night...was limp and a bit crispy this morn, but I salvaged a lot, snipped and put in some water (as I'd been doing little by little as I used it.) But this limper stuff may only last the week and some cannot be put in water, stems are too limp & short.
Questions...can I freeze it to use within a month? Last time I tried to freeze parsley and basil it looked too weird to use....darkened in the freezer, didn't seem fragrant anymore.
What's the best way to have parsley, basil during winter, without always having to go buy as I need it? I've had problems keeping a parsley and thyme plant indoors in winter without it getting buggy-- spider mites and I even saw a small worm recently!! ugh. That is why it was back out on the porch!
Can you still grow basil now indoors from seeds? I have kept a basil plant all winter before, successfully, but it had been grown in the summer. I don't have one left from summer now..
Tks for any advice given on any of the above!!
