Is it safe to eat broccoli and cauliflower when they get the brown and yellow spots on them?

I would trim the brown and yellow spots off before eating. I don't think it would be harmful.

If it turns brown then it's old and has probably lost much of it's nutritional value. Eating it won't do harm but it might not taste good and it could be a bit fibrous.
That's the kind of stuff I make soups out of.

Brown spots - to me - says .....eat soon because it's losing moisture. No harm - no threat - no danger - veggie just isn't getting any better. (freshness)
