Question about 4 qt Pressure Cooker

I just received the 4 qt pessure cooker and am amazed at how tiny the pot is. The instructions state not to fill it more than half with food plus liquid. The recipes that come with this pot seem to be to too much for this pot. For example, it calls for a 3-5 pound chicken for soup. Isn't that way too big a chicken for this pot?

On the plus side, it is light enough to easily store, but I would really like to hear from someone who has this PC if it is worth keeping. The reviews seem to be positive for the most part.
