I wonder why David is not "cooking" on his show today.  I have also noticed that Mary has not "cooked" on her show either.  Maybe they are working on the set to improve it.

My thought.....cooking shows must be expensive to produce seeing all the food they present.  Buy supplies - cook or bake it - pay to have a kitchen staff doing all the work = costs lots of money ...when you can

have a kitchen show selling can openers & lock'n'lock for $19 - they only need a host and stage hands.

Re: QVC2 - Kitchen

[ Edited ]

The set on QVC 2 and the way that they do the show has been like that for quite some time. Ever since they went back to doing live shows on QVC 2, during the pandemic.

Mary sits at a table/counter to present.  She has said in the past that it is just her, one camera operator, and one producer. Small crew.

A few weeks ago she was selling a popcorn maker and said she wished she could demonstrate how easy it is but there is no electric hooked up at the "table" she sits at.

QVC 2 is just a bare bones kind of set up. Guessing it save QVC money to operate it that way. The host usually just sits there and goes over colors while the vendor is skyped in on live camera and does the actual demonstration/presentation of the item for sale.

Amy's clearance clothing show show runs the same way on QVC 2. She often runs off camera to change, apologizing that it's just her there.

@MezzieStarr   This must be the setup they talked about months ago with having the Host just showing 1 item at a time and the vender doing all the show and tell.

Don't like it much but then I rarely watch Q2.  Thanks for the explanation.
