Re: Progresso Soup Lovers - heads up!

Maybe there was ""mystery meat"" in your soup because you bought it at the Dollar Store....

That's not correct, not by a long shot.

You're no doubt thinking of someplace else - maybe Family Dollar or Dollar General. Smile

I never said I bought Campbell's soups at Dollar Tree - that's an erroneous assumption you made. Even if I did, what do you think Campbell's does - have a separate line for dollar stores? {#emotions_dlg.rolleyes} Dollar Tree - and other places - simply buys overstocks.

In any case, my Campbell's soup has always come from Publix or Walmart.

I love the greeting cards in Dollar Tree, nice cards for 50 cents!!!

I agree! Spending $2-3 (or more) for a piece of lightweight cardboard that will go in the trash is ridiculous; I always get my cards at Dollar Tree - either 2/$1 or $1 for the fancier ones - can't beat it! {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Re: Progresso Soup Lovers - heads up!

I wait for Progresso to go on sale at my local grocery store 4 for $5.00 - if I have coupons, they double, so I really stock up just to have on hand. They seldom limit which kind you buy, and I especially like the Rich and Hearty variety. I seldom buy Campbell's anymore, other than the cream soups.

I have always thought Progresso soups had a weird taste and don't like them at all. But I have bought them at Dollar Tree for DH...they had zesty gumbo last week that he really liked.

Thanks for the heads-up. Is the sale at Dollar Tree. Dollar General, or Family Dollar? I like both Campbell's and Progresso. Remember to take coupons for an even sweeter deal.

I buy them there all the time. Our church takes a special food pantry collection every week. I like to bring lentil soup or some other protein rich soups to donate.

It's Dollar Tree, where everything is a dollar. I went to another one yesterday, and bought all the tomato basil they had left - 13 cans. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup1}

Good idea, house cat. Also, for those who don't have a church or other place nearby they can donate to, on May 10 there's the annual nation-wide collection by the USPS for local food panties - they're asking people to put nonperishable food they want to donate by their mailbox, and the postman will pick it up.
