Primula fruit infusion pitcher

Ok girls.   The first time I used this pitcher, I cut up one lemon and a pint of strawberries and there was a little taste but not much.    Second time I used it I cut up 5 oranges and still a little taste but not much.   Am I doing it right or am I expecting to much flavor?

Your input is appreciated and thank you ahead of time.

I've often wonder why people buy these pitchers just for the reason you mention.  You waste a lot of expensive fruit for little impact.  Any fruit flavors is so diluted by the water, you barely taste it.

Little flavor and lots of expensive fruit is what I found also.  If I want citrus flavoring in my water, I use True Lemon, Lime, Orange, or Grapefruit.

I seem to have better luck with flavoring my water with cucumbers in my infusion pitcher. It is delicious !!!

@Lucygirl

Depends on the fruit and if the fruit is in season.

Before cutting citrus fruit

  1. choose citrus with the most juice ( example oranges) some types have more intense flavor and juice than others
  2. before cutting: roll the citrus on your kitchen counter using some pressure from your palm while rolling back and forth.
  3. If you like fresh mint or cucumbers add those as well
  4. start with room temperature water, add room temperature citrus and than chill in fridge

let me know if this helps?

You aren't doing anything wrong.  These aren't supposed to give you a juice taste.  They give a light, suble flavor.
