There’s really not a perfect place to post this note, but it will apply to kitchen as well as other subjects. I’m guessing you, like me, typically think that an item at QVC will have the best price compared to other sites selling that same item. Well, that surely wasn’t the case today. I don’t want to mention the item as I suspect my post would be removed if I did. However, the item I’m referring to was sold by QVC for $39.98 + $5.50 s/h. This identical item was available on Amazon for $19.99 with free shipping which I have. Even if I’d had to pay $5.50 for shipping, it still would have been much more expensive at QVC. Thus a HUGE difference in cost! $45.48 vs. $19.99.
Granted this item was available on QVC in 3 colors, and only 1 color on Amazon but most folks wouldn’t care what color the item was (unlike an item such as clothing where color would matter). I’m not suggesting that a price on Amazon or any other site will always be better than a QVC price (in fact QVC might have the best price) but I am suggesting that before you purchase an item that’s likely to be available in several places, you look at all of them before making your purchase.

I never typically thought any retailer had the best price on any items. Different retailers, at different times, with different sales and the beauty of the internet is being able to price compare at our fingertips.

@Razzy 7. I think, as gold medal shoppers, most of us know before purchasing to price check other sources. Sometimes QVC has the better price, sometimes not. They don't claim to be the less expensive on every product but many people buy there due to Easy Pay and their liberal, no hassle return policy.

Good points.
I just made my post to say, "be aware" and "don't get ripped off."

I feel that typically QVC is one of the more expensive places for the quality of what they sell. I have thought that for a long time.
When I started buying back in the last century, they had good house brands at good prices, and good casual clothing that was a good value. They also had a lot of things you couldn't find elsewhere.
But never have I thought it would be cheaper at QVC, whatever it was.

The OP is just retail 101.
I have never, ever expected that QVC has the best price for anything. Before the internet, we wouldn't have known. After the launch of the internet, we know they don't.

@Razzy 7 I only read the first sentence and had to respond. I *never* assume Q has the best price. In my online shopping they rarely if ever have the best price.
I often buy directly from the vendor's website where the prices are *usually* better or from Amazon or another online site.

Not to mention the shipping cost. The return shipping is crazy. I paid 39.00 today to ship back something I bought for 98.00. No peel and stick label for return. I called CS at QVC they said I have to pay since it came directly from vendor. I told them the box it came in was huge. 1/2 the box was packing bags. Ridiculous.
@mittie - It sounds like it may be too late, but did you try to initiate a return label via the QVC website? That's the option that is recommended for returns when a label is not provided in the package. I've never heard of an order where QVC wouldn't facilitate the return process, even if it might be for a higher-than-usual label fee. I'd surmise that any kind of special return process where QVC wouldn't be involved might only be for something like a mattress set or a large furniture piece—something that may be shipped by freight rather than a standard courier. (And an item that was $98 doesn't seem like it would be likely to require that, but I could be mistaken.)

@mittie - What on earth did you ship back that cost $39 shipping?
I've had HSN require me to ship cell phones back at my own expense (a reason I no longer buy from them), but never QVC. But what $98 item would require that much postage?
I just shipped a Christmas tree back (large box, weighed somewhere around 30 lbs) that wasn't what I wanted; not defective. The Q's return label fee was $10.95 via UPS. And I know that was a bargain.
