{#emotions_dlg.scared}Two Honey Crisp Apples cost me $3.59. I live in Upstate NY and it's apple season so I don't get it. They were large apples but still. My husband told me I'm going to have to learn to cut back on things like this as we get closer to retirement -- we won't be able to enjoy the "finer" things in life!!! Wow who would have thought apples were on the list of high living. I'd rather spend my money on fresh items than meat and steak.

I agree with you. Cutting back on your health is not even in the stars. I don't eat meat and if I had to cut back, it surely would not be with veggies and fruits and nuts. I have apple trees here and I would throw you a few if I lived closer.lol

LOL. That would be awesome. When I was little I wanted to be a cowgirl when I grew up!

We live in NH near a couple of orchards. ""Pick-your own"" apples are about $1+ per pound and ""ready-picked"" apples are slightly higher. You can still find supermarket apples here at $.99 per pound.

I was introduced to honey crisp apples last year: they are delicious and a real treat but they were two and a half times more expensive than other varieties. This year they are 1.50 each. They must grow a limited number.... Poodlepet

Honeycrisps are 3.98/lb at the local Krogers. The wife likes Galas, my favorite is Pacific Rose.

Are honey crisp apples sweet or tart. I have never bought them before as DH likes Fujis.. However, I would like to try them.

I try to buy them in bags at the Farmer's Market...I find I get a better value that way!
