I saw a recipe on FB for crockpot lasagna and decided to give it a try yesterday. It was not a good experience at all. It was very soupy - lots and lots of liquid! i had used the no cook noodles and drained all the liquid from the ricotta too. I saved the leftovers and today I baked them in a casserole and it was much better. I do not recommend making lasagna in a crockpot.

I hear you. I tried Bob Warden's pressure cooker lasagna and that's the first time I threw out lasagna. I'll stick with the oven baked version, thanks. Wink

Do you think it could have been because you used the no-cook noodles? Is that the specific kind the recipe listed?

This recipe looks good. Is it similar to the one you used? This calls for sausage, but you could use ground beef.

This one looks like it is worth a try. I may try it and come back with a review.

I was looking again at the betty crocker recipe for crockpot lasagna. I was noticing that it uses 5 uncooked lasagna noodles on each layer, broken in pieces to fit. (15 noodles total) In my crockpot (round shape) 5 noodles would not fit in a single layer. I guess you would use the 5 noodles on each layer anyway? If I used less noodles than the recipe listed, it would probably be too saucy.

Thanks for the post. I was wondering about how this would turn out but I never tried making it.

I made a version of crockpot lasagna once. It called for uncooked lasagna noodles, broken up.

We didn't like it much. The noodles had a chewy consistency.

When my family hears I'm making lasagna, they expect the dish they grew up on. They don't really want me to spring some imposter dish on them LOL.

I made a batch not too long ago using no cook noodles. It turned out just fine- there was enough to feed an army. I felt bad, but my freezer was packed, and I ended up tossing most of it out. Poodlepet

I have a recipe for the crockpot, only made it once years ago and it wasn't soupy at all. In fact the person I got the recipe from said that they used more sauce than called for but I didn't. I used what the recipe called for & it was a little dry! I will try to find my recipe if interested and post it.
