I've toyed with the idea of buying a pressure cooker, but never pulled the trigger. Today I got my Good Housekeeping magazine, and they gave the farberware cooker their seal. The top was a ******or, very pricey, however the Farberware is at Walmart and I have enough saving catcher points to get it. Have any of you used a cookbook that you would recommend ? I will also look online, but I would like a boo to get started. Thanks in advance.

Meredith Lawrence, The Blue Jean Chef, has some good PC cookbooks - I got mine on Amazon. BTW, I have a CE pressure cooker and love it!

I have cookbooks but never use them. There are thousands of recipes online or you can easily adapt your favorites to this way of cooking. My least favorite book is the one Bob Warden wrote.
Congratulations, you're going to love this new toy.

when I got my pressure cooker I got a bunch of books from the library. To be honest I glanced at them and then used the internet as a guide, I would do that rather than spend money on a book that you might not end up using,
Pinterest has many pressure cooker ideas, and just google.
You just need to start with soup and get an idea of how it works as its different
we love ours
trying to figure out what was censored out in your post :-)

@QVCkitty1 If you haven't bought your PC yet, you might consider the Instant Pot. Some Walmart's carry those too. These are the best in my opinion. They have a stainless steel inner pot that does not stick! You don't have to worry about that nonstick interior scratching and getting damaged.
There is a huge Instant Pot group on Facebook. Instant Pot has a cult following and I'm one of the members! LOL
No need for a cookbook. I just use my regular recipes and look up similar recipes online for the PC to get cook time guidelines.
There are also gobs of recipes on that Facebook group.
You will love it!

I have the CE TSV pressure cooker and hate it. I have so much trouble getting it to seal in order to pressurize. I bought the Wolfgang Puck one from HSN and really like that one. It is so easy to use. I am donating my CE pressure cooker. I have read about the instant pot cooker and would look into that one also.

I love my Instant Pot. I typically just use the time guidelines for cooking whatever my main ingredient is that are in the booklet that came with the pot. I may look online for ideas when I want to fix something new to me, but I honestly seldom follow any recipe. When the time is up, the goes to keep warm status and slowly depressurizes. Since I live alone, I just open it and eat when I get ready to.
