I just bought a new pressure cooker. I haven't used it yet but just reading through the manual that came with it. In the Manual it said food such as pearl barley, noodles and pasta should not be cooked under pressure because it becomes foamy and clogs up the floating valve; however the recipe in my cookbook says to put the pasta and chicken stock in after browning the chicken and vegetables, put on the cover and cook for 6 minutes under pressure. I want to make chicken noodle soup. My question is do you put the pasta in the pressure cooker before cooking or do you cook the pasta separate and add when soup is done? I have never used a pressure cooker before so I want to make sure I don't mess anything up.
