Pressure .Cooker Failure

I think I'm having my first pressure cooker failure in almost 50 years of using one. I have a new electric which I've successfully used twice. I just put some chicken in it and it's hissing up a storm. Last time it didn't make a sound. I've checked it and everything appears to be clean and clear. Any ideas?
