@SharkE @SouthernBee  I bought one of these about a year ago, but don't use it very often because I can't figure out how to tell when it's reached the heat level I want (I've tried it with steaks and lamb chops). I've watched the videos and read reviews, but I always wind up putting the meat in the oven to finish cooking. It seems like it takes forever (more than 15 minutes) to come to temp. TIA, Eileen

@Eileen in Virginia , I don't have this device, but I do have a Ninja grill and it takes a bit longer than 15 minutes to get to HIGH (500 deg) which is what I use to cook steaks and burgers.  I have yet to time it, but we had burgers last night and the mac and cheese (8 to 10 min.) on the stove was done before the Ninja was up to temp.  I still have timing issues, but I do like using it.

@Eileen in Virginia : I always start my grill first before I do anything else to let it preheat and reach the heat level that I need. It can sometimes be irritating to get it to the desired temperature. I still like it and the fact that it had the extra griddle included . I love the lid .

on the dial the temp goes up in blue color when you set it to whatever

it starts low like 140 degrees, then, the next set of numbers turns blue, and the next set turns blue when it reaches the preset number like 350 for meat and 400 for pancakes.

just watch the temp dial and in seconds , it turns color blue till it sets it to where you set it.

if your frying make sure you fill the water dish that's what keeps the smoking down. water absorbs the smoke.  I don't bother to fill the water dish for pancakes, cheese sandwiches don't cook that long and no grease. I spray the grill with non stick spray/Crisco. and you can spray the griddle too.

Notice the arrows pointing to the right when you reassemble it after you clean the water pan. Put everything back in correct order.
