I have been interested in these for sometime. I have cookware to use for this and I haven't bought because I'm not sure which one to purchase or which brand. I passed on the Ultimate Induction Burner once before on the other shopping channel and it is a TS again. If you have one please help me! Is one brand better than the other?

I have the NuWave 2. I got it at BB&B with the 20% coupon. Mine came with a skillet. I think it cost $80 after the coupon.
It's better than a hot plate as it has a wide temperature range. It gets to temp very quickly. Just as in the demo, the surface does not get hot, but, if you use cast iron-the cast iron will get hot and retain heat. The heat from the CI can make the NuWave surface warm.
I've been very happy with mine. It's lightweight, gives you excellent temperature control. I take it camping, (when we have access to electricity).

I have several friends who entertain a lot and use the induction burners. From what they tell me it is the quality of the cookware that makes the difference, not the burner. Hope that helps.

Yes, one brand is better than another. I own both the Max Burton 5200 and the original NuWave Precision Induction Cooktop. I MUCH prefer the NuWave as temperatures are adjustable in 10 degree increments. With the Max Burton only in 30-40 degree increments.
Do be aware that the Ming Tsai NuWave 1300W Ultimate Induction Burner which is the Today's Special on HSN today is the NuWave PIC2. There is a more advanced model available but at this time only available at Hearthware. It is an 1800W unit adjustable in 5 degree increments and the induction heat ring is slightly larger. Of course it's more expensive as well.
The $80 Today's Special on HSN is a very good buy.

I decided to buy the TS on the other shopping channel. I read all the post here and went for it. Thank you all.
