Someone needs to tell these hosts to stop mangling every single food item they get their hands on. Bread, cookies, meat, chicken, cake, snacks, everything. Just tear it all apart like a two year old. This does nothing to make me want to buy anything. It's disgusting.

@Three Cats  It's not going to stop until they can eat the food on set.

Re: Please Stop!

[ Edited ]

People complained when they ate the food and now they can't eat the food so the only way to show the consistency and fill presentation time is to use the food.  So ... until they can go back to eating it, we are kind of stuck with it this way.  But if it bothers you as much as you say, you can always limit your viewing time of food shows.

It helps me to see the texture of something when they break it apart.  I can see how moist or dry, how crumbly or flakey.

Well I wish these posts would stop!!!  The only way to show the texture, moistness, etc of food products is to do that!  I wouldn't buy if they quit doing that.  I need to see those demonstrations.  I need to see that.  They might as well just use fake food!!!

@Three Cats    Tell us, how would YOU demonstrate and sell food items that you couldn't eat?  I'm sure QVC would appreciate suggestions.

They need to "demo" it some way, even if it means demolishing the food products.

Some people are very --- I guess you could call it a form of food sensitive --- they can get very skeeved out about how food is handled on the set.  How it is touched, how their hands look when they touch it, how they eat (when they did, how they handled their eating instruments, how much they put in their mouths and if they spoke with any food in their mouths and the list can go on and on.

This is just one example.  I don't try to understand it, I just know the problem exists for some people.  I've often wondered if some people watch it knowing full well how they'll react and have a weird pleasure of going all EWWW!!!  LOL  I wouldn't wonder except these complaints come up all the time.  I think they keep watching rather than change the channel and therein is the draw of exquisitely divine horror. Woman LOL

@Three Cats  Were you watching Gourmet Holiday today when one of the hosts and the vendor picked up the cod filet and held it in their hands.
