Phasing out Temptations?

[ Edited ]

I was looking around thinking about getting new dishes and saw they do not have too many selections left. Are they waiting for new stock and new designs or being cleared out?

I imagine, with all the bad reviews (the cracking problem, for one), that QVC is probably looking to replace this brand with a better one. (Let's hope so, anyway!)

Re: Phasing out Temptations?

It's only speculation on my part, but Temp-tations hasn't had a TSV in several years now, and their full hour shows most often take place in the middle of the night.

They used to be on a cooking show with at least one set/piece about every week, and that doesn't happen anymore either.

It does seem they have saturated the market. Quality is better lately than it was a few years ago, but it may be too late to really save the brand.

It could be that Q is baking down a bit, and will have a resurgence of the products at some time in the future, and only time will tell, but it wouldn't surprise me if the brand is under contract for a period of time, but will be phased out eventually.

I hope Temp-tations isn't being phased out, but I would love to see some new patterns.  Old World and Floral Lace is over-saturated; that's all you see now.

I would like to see more individual seasonal pieces for various holidays, not just Christmas and Easter.  I love my red, white, and blue pie plates which can be used several times per year.

@wakefield64  Last year, I purchased the figural fruit set in peach. I remember Tara stating to David they would bring back figural fruit patterns again. I emailed her website and the reply i received is that there are no plans at this time to bring it back anytime soon. Makes me wonder.

I agree with you! I groan every time it's mentioned that Old World and Floral Lace are the most popular patterns—of course they are when that's 95% of the product that's sold.

I also loved the red, white, and blue pieces, and I will always beg TT to bring back my happy red polka dot pattern. I enjoy the figural fruit pieces as well (especially the strawberry), but I really appreciate more neutral and classic designs rather than all the flowers. If the quality of the "artisan painting" would improve and the designs would be more contemporary, I think TT could sell zillions more products than it already does.

I love the figural fruit patterns as well. I'm surprised and happy for you that you received a reply about the pattern; I've reached out to TT through their website, QVC, and Facebook, and the best I ever got was something to the effect of "many new items will be released in the coming months, so stay tuned!" Uggghhhh. Just say "no" so I can move on and not keep hoping to see the pattern. I appreciate your update!

Cook Essentials has a line of ceramic cookware/bakewear and the patterns co-ordinate with the Temptations ware.  I purchased the large set of bowls and have been very pleased with them. She also has dishes, etc.

I thin Tara has been focusing more on her direct sales business the last year or so.
