Probably runs better then the 'stuff' we have today.

Plastic handles on dryers that fall off after a few days.

I have to open up my dryer door with the end of a screw driver. Still drys, but, why they put a old cheap plastic handle on it is a mistake I won't make again.

LOVE that red stove!

Trouble is...the stove has been my LEAST used appliance since the heat wave started in May.    I could probably live without one...

@SharkE.  There is a site on Facebook you can join and get daily information called "Cookbook Love" where they feature vintage kitchens, appliances, foods, gadgets, and recipes, some really good stuff.  Very interesting.  There are such sites for virtually every interest.  You can ask questions and contribute if you wish.  You meet a lot of knowledgeable people.

@SharkE

That's awful. What brand is your dryer?

Whirlpool

It still does the job and I can afford a new one, but, I don't see why I should just chuck it out when it still works.   Practical side of me. I just keep the screwdriver with the dryer.

That a SMEG?  I got the red SMEG mixer

@SharkE.  The caption above it says 1952 O'Keeffe & Meritt.  It looks brand new, either well maintained or rarely used.

There are people who restore vintage appliances down to the wiring and enamel. Check out ebay, similar red stove, seller has it for $1500 + shipping.
