Paging Chattycathi Re. WP Oven

Would you mind giving me the actual outside dimensions of the Oven? I'm a little concerned about my space, especially the depth. Would love to have it!

Txblond,, it is relatively large especially compared to the Breville 800 series. Roughly 16x18x23 "

Hi- that is big! Is the depth 18 inches? That is my main concern.

Re: Paging Chattycathi Re. WP Oven

Hi TxBlonde, mine is only 13" deep. It's 12" high and 19.5" accross. Just took out the tape measure and measured. Have had it a for a few months, i do like it but it's a pain to clean and the cord is short so it doesn't fit on top of my stove, I cant vent it out and as such, sets off the smoke alarm every time i've used it. It will be fine once i can open the windows and doors (which may never happen if the snow doesn't stop!) Also, on the height, remember there is a pressure release on top that is about 3/4" that also needs some type of clearance so it can release steam etc. It sputters quite a bit during the units operation. Overall i do like it but purchased this past fall and as I said, not good inside when the windows and doors are closed.

Re: Paging Chattycathi Re. WP Oven

jtdmum - Thanks for the info. 13inches deep would work out fine. I would set it on a cart, which has a lot of space all around. I have read a lot of reviews & most of them are good - no one ever mentioned having the problem with the steam.

I'm also considering the Cuisinart Steam Oven, but not sure it is big enough & I'm not crazy about messing with the water reservoir. So, right now, I'm really undecided. My built-in oven (now 34 yrs. old) does not have a working broiler element & takes forever to come to temp. Also, it is self-cleaning & that feature needs the broiler element. So, I'm looking for something to take its place.

Again, thanks for the reply! I think 4uthebest has the Cuisinart, so 4u if you see this post, can you tell me about the Cuisinart?

Hi Txblond, I had tried the WP 2 times and returned them. I also have the Breville 800 BUT the only time I use the Breville is when something will not fit in the Cuisinart
(which will do a 12" pizza) and as soon as Cuisinart makes a larger one (hope hope) I will be first in line.

The build quality is far better with the Cuisinart and it is amazing.. Imagine a steam bake cycle which is great for baking proteins and dough products and it has a steam broil function which is good too.

There is ZERO warm up time with the unit and if the recipe says to bake at 350 for 15 minutes it will do that ..15 min..

I use the steam bake function for cooking frozen higher quality TV dinners and they always are cooked well in significantly less time than the package states.

As far as the water container..it is a piece of cake..Typically I will fill it up only once a week or so and that includes when I use the super steam function for my frozen lobster tails.

As far as cleaning...wow piece of cake basically run steam cycle (210F 30 min) and then wipe out the inside and dump the water tray..

I could go on and on but it is my most used oven.. I did not even talk about the bread proofing and baking function...

Also of course it has a 3 yr. warranty. Hope this helps..

Re: Paging Chattycathi Re. WP Oven

Txblond ..that would be great if your BB&B carries it as mine did not so I got it on Amazon for $259 but I noticed recently Amazon has had it for less.

Regarding Pizza ..it bakes evenly as opposed to the Breville which has instructions that say you need to rotate 90 degrees midway or it will burn.

I have never eaten so much lobster and snow crab as I have since the steamer function on this machine.

One negative is the user manual being very basic, but as a scientist, that is not too hard for me and there are recipes online.

4uthebest - Our BB&B does not have the oven in stock, but said they could order it for me & have it sent to my house (no S&H right now). I have a 20% off coup. & also a store credit, so could get it for a little over $100., I think. No one seems to have it in stock - I wanted to take a look at it.

Thanks for all the tips!

Wow great to hear BB&B can order it...Check out Amazon for this review and it shows the little water container ..Cuisinart Steam & Convection Oven

BTW what was the price BB&B had without any discounts?

One thing..it will NOT fit 13" pans but I am doing fine with other sizes.
