And I'm half Polish myself!

We had such wonderful Polish bakeries and delis up north, I miss the pierogies!!

Not to forget the potato pancakes and apple fritters, and those pork chops baked with sauerkraut.

No, and I am also trying to refraiin from King Cake. I may have checked and they have it in stock at ther local bakery.

My local Publix market is selling them thru today, Fat Tuesday.

I did know there is a 'Paczki Day' because I'm half Polish, and originally from a Polish area in NJ.

Moved down South and forgot what day it was!  LOL

Sorry but I had never heard of Paczki until my apartment complex office sent out a email this afternoon inviting residents to stop by and pick up a Paczki to celebrate Paczki Day. I went online to see what they are and it said they are Jam-filled  donuts filled with preserves and often have a small amt of alcohol like vodka to prevent them from absorbing too much oil during frying. 

They sound delicious but being diabetic it's a easy pass for me. I had never heard of putting vodka in a donut !   To everyone having a Paczki, enjoy that special treat !!

The purpose is to eat and savor and enjoy as a fabulous,  delectable  pre-Lenten treat.  Yum!
