Chef Ming from HSN is showing a really cool looking pressure cooker.....do any of you use one?

Is it really all that?

What is the best thing you make......I just can't decide if I "need" one....................

I don't have one but I am also considering it.My mom had the old school stove top type and she made all of our meals in it.I really liked the soups and stews.i didn't care for the pot roadster though.

I have two Instant Pots, both are 6 quart size. They're truly the best thing I've invested in for my kitchen and family.

Things I make regularly:

  • Hard boiled eggs
  • Carnitas
  • Cheesecake
  • Pot Roast
  • Shrimp scampi risotto
  • Rice pudding
  • Mongolian beef
  • Beef and broccoli
  • Other risotto recipes
  • Spaghetti squash in 25 minutes including time to build pressure
  • Butter chicken
  • Stock
  • Mashed potatoes
  • Soups

I'm planning to try yogurt soon since both pots have a yogurt setting.

@catlover  I love my pressure cooker.  I've only used pressure cookers now for probably 3 years.  I also have the Instant Pot which I think is superior to other pressure cookers.  I have not seen the one you are talking about though.

I like the Instant pot because the pot you cook in is stainless steel.  It is very easy to clean.  That was my initial worry, but I love it!

The instant pot also has many cooking options/settings that are very useful.  Check it out on Amazon and compare the products and reviews.

Our pressure cooker helped to get us through our kitchen remodel. Best appliance ever during that time! I use it at least once a week, sometimes more often. I work a full time job and have a lot of meetings at night. The pressure cooker allows me to serve a good meal fairly quickly instead of relying on fast food or restaurant food. It's been a lifesaver for us.

I did not buy mine from QVC....bought it from the A, based on a lot of reviews. I did a ton of research and am very happy with it.

I would definitely recommend a pressure cooker.

I have the Cook's Companion (purchased because it was the only one that had a ceramic-coated vessel and not PTFE like the CE did at the time. I have five parrots and I won't expose them to the lethal fumes even slightly overheated PTFE puts out) and I love it. I make risotto in it about once a week, potroast, marinara sauce, ster, broccoli cheese soup -- it's one of the best appliances I've ever bought.

Instant Pot ♥

and if you want one I would advise keeping watch on the A store for sales in the run up to Christmas.  the biggest seller during the Prime sale or what ever it was this spring/summer was the IP

I live alone and have three pressure cookers (6 qt., 4 qt. and 2 qt.).  I wouldn't be without one.  IMO pressure cookers and fresh vegetables were made for each other.  Want to know what a potato or carrot really tastes like?  Pressure cook them.
