I have a Viking pasta pot with the strainer insert.  Frankly, I prefer to fish the pasta out of the boiling water with a "spider".

It's much easer to reserve the pasta water using the spider.  When using the pot  with the insert you still have to dump pasta water in order to tilt the insert for draining.  If you don't, the pasta will be sitting in the insert while it is still in the water.
