Yes, I agree.  Many are overpriced, but I think they get away with it because they know customers think they are paying for the convenience of having it made by someone else, and, of course, they are...but how much more?

What the market can bear determines pricing.  Calling it "gourmet" is a marketing tool they use to justify the higher prices.  As are using "designer" names to jack up prices.  

$13 for one 5 oz hamburger is highway robbery.  Around $39 a pound!  Black Angus usually does cost more, but not close to that.  I can get Black Angus for around $5.00 a pound at my local grocery store.  

The way I see it, it doesn't matter whether someone can afford it or not, when pricing is higher than it should be, it's taking advantage of those who like the convenience of prepared food, wealthy or not.

It isn't only QVC, though.  This has been going on for years.
