Hello ! I am planning on purchasing a KitchenAid mixer for my niece for her Bridal shower, and trying to decide on which model to choose. I would really appreciate your opinions and experiences - good or bad.
So far I am looking at the Artisan 5 qt 325 watt, and the Pro600 6 qt 575 watt.
I believe the Artisan has a tilt head, and the Pro600 has the bowl lift. What is your preference ? Is the lift head easier when you need to scrape the sides of the bowl?
Obviously, the 575 watt is going to be powerful. But with the 325 watt, do you find it to be powerful enough, and able take the occasional heavier dough ? I thought I read somewhere that the Pro600 didn't do a great job creaming butter or cream cheese because the beaters weren't getting quite close enough to the side of the bowl. What are your experiences ?
How about the bowl size. 5 qt or 6 qt. Is the 5 qt plenty big ? Is the 6 qt too big?
I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to give me your opinions.
Susan
