I've been cleaning house and will finish today--can't do it all in one day anymore! We "might" have one guest, otherwise it'll just be DH & me, but we always make a traditional Thanksgiving for ourselves anyway--i'm not cooking anymore than normal just because of one "maybe" guest. I say maybe, because he's a bit of a flake (though a nice enough guy). He accepted the invitation 10 days ago, and DH will text him a reminder today. So we'll see! We're eating at the designated time, whether he's there or not, lol!

Anyway, turkey will go in the oven soon and gravy will be made a little later today. I'll also put together the green bean casserole--except for the onion rings--and stick it in the fridge to cook tomorrow. Pies will be baked in the morning. Dressing will go in the oven shortly before dinnertime.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

I found a small turkey (13 pounds) for just me!!

I will be sharing it with my feral cats f ( I don't care for white meat...I'll eat some, but share the rest).

88 cents a pound at local Walmart last week, frozen.

I just got back from Walmart....here in NW corner or PA...we may or may not have lake effect and regular snow for maybe tomorrow thru next Wednesday so I wanted to be sure I had enough so I don't have to leave the house!!!

There were very few folks there but stockers when I got there around 745 am, but it was filling up by time I left...

I hope they're wrong about the weather, for those who have to travel....many times they predict inches of rain and we get a few drops ( hmmmm....maybe that's why we're in droughtish conditions!!) I call it "imaginary" rain.

I hope we have imaginary lake effect snow...but if not....snowthrower is ready and I'm retired and don't HAVE to go out!!

I heard this morning in Erie, PA there's a six hour wait at the one tire shop to have snow tires put on.

The SUN is out today !!! At first I didn'tknow what that light in the sky was...been so gloomy here lately...then I remembered!!! The quality of the sunlight is SO pretty this time of year...

Happy T Day....sounds like everyone's getting a good head start!

@LindaSal Can I come to your house just for the turnips?

I'm the only one that likes them and haven't had them since my mom passed away.

@CelticCrafter , Why not fix some just for you ? It will be a nice memory of your mom, and you are worth it !

I have made the cranberry orange relish so far.  That's not much of a head start, but I have more planned for this afternoon.  The rest will be tomorrow.  We don't start the festivities until around three so I will have time.

Working on my table setting theme.  I change it up each year.  My colors this year are going to be taupe, gold and cobalt.

Opened up the Butterball turkey breast roast. The gravy packet is larger than the roast! Hmm....

I purchased and cooked the same 3lb. Butterball. I seasoned it up.  It was good. I was happy with it. I usually ruin the big bird and this year I chose this little one after watching you tube videos. Just me and my hubby. had left overs. I did not use that gravy packet that came with the roast. Made my own Mc cormick brown gravy. Easy his year.
