That's my DH's supper tonight with mashed potatoes. (I just ate a few pieces of the beef and mp.) Something triggered my memory of my dear aunt and uncle who owned a bar, restaurant and catering business, and my aunt's hot roast beef sandwiches. I'm sure I grew fat on those!

I can see her ladeling that gravy onto the plate, then a slice of bread, the steamed beef, gravy, bread topper and more gravy! And even when she made it for me, she gave me sprigs of parsley! (I was their principal waitress when I turned 13!)

It's just jar gravy tonight, but I did make my good golden mashed potatoes with cream and butter.
