CAKE POPS!

I tried to make them today for a friend's birthday. What a fiasco! I wasted a lot of ingredients and a lot of very precious time.

Have you tried Starbucks ""happy birthday"" pops? TDF!!! Sorry they did not work out for you. You really seem like a great cook to me.

I haven't tried them. I'll bet they're yummy!

I think I bit off more than I could chew today. I made an entire dinner for tomorrow, as well as homemade guacamole, salsa and chorizo quesadillas for our dinner tonight. In between, I did a million and a half other things, as most of us women do. By the time I got to the pops I was pooped. I might try them again sometime, but not right away.

Did you make the cake pops where you crumble up a cake and mix frosting into it, or did you make cake balls that are then dipped?

I keep meaning to get around to trying them; I have all the paraphernalia, but haven't done it yet.

I made the kind you crumble. I baked a strawberry cake mix this morning. Tonight I crumbled it and added some frosting.. made balls. They wouldn't stay together, it was a crumbly mess. I melted an entire bar of Ghirardelli white chocolate and it was only enough to cover four of them.. crumbs got in the chocolate. Yuck. I would have thrown it all into the trash, but my goat of a husband is eating them anyway. He'll do anything for me, lol

That is SO funny! I think I married a ""goat"" too! Can I steal that line? You gave me a good chuckle!

Actually, the ones crumbled with frosting don't appeal to me as I'm not a big frosting fan - I'm going to make the ones that are all cake, then dip them in coating and decorate them.
