10 minutes. Evidently, Joey Chestnut won that goofy hot dog eating contest again.
Am I the only one that thinks it is disgusting. I want to down a container of Tums just thinking about it.
Sometimes just be because you can doesn't mean you should. I am truly amazed someone has not choked to death doing it.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I have always found these kinds of eating contests totally sickening. What's the point except to show how much a pig you can make of yourself?

In 2021 I remember a college student choked and tragically died while at a hot dog eating contest. Also a man from South Dakota died from the same reason in 2014. I think it's so disgusting like you!

I agree it's disgusting, repulsive, and nauseating. I turn the TV to any other channel when the hot dog story appears every July 4. Are we the only country that does this sort of thing? Having been to France many times, I cannot imagine any eating contests. I suppose an escargot fest might work (LOL).

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I agree with you and think it's really disgusting not to mention it could be dangerous! Just the thought of stuffing that many hot dogs down makes me want to gag! I don't understand how some people find this entertaining.

Watching the news in the past they show a clip of the contest. It is not just gorging on the weenies and buns, taking a drink of water while they have a mouthful of food. I assume to help it go down.
Soggy hot dog buns, yikes. I just made myself sick. lol

Here in Tx. The Big Texan restaurant a woman wins the contest about the 72 oz steak and all the trimmings. She ate 3 helpings.
Almost 5 lb steak for 1 to eat 3 helpings at 1 sitting she'd eat 15 lbs of beef, salad, potato, some kind of bread and wash it all down with pitchers of a drink of some kind
They used to have a webcam at the Big Texan you can watch people and they have to do it within 60 minutes.

@SharkE That cannot be a good thing to do to your system. 15lbs. of food.
Believe me, no one with half way decent eyesight if going to mistake me for Twiggy. I do not finish even a sub/hoagie. I'm good for 1/2 and eat the rest the next day for lunch. If I ate it all at once I'd feel like exploding from being to uncomfortable.

Her name is
this was a few yrs ago when she ate just 2, but, later on she broke her record and downed 3. They started offering a big cash prize. Supposedly she done it to support her kids.
Maybe I can find the one where she broke her record.
