If made right they taste a lot better than they look.

Had my first green smoothie today.

One apple, one pear, mixed berries, mixed greens (spinach, baby kale, chard) one cup almond milk, one tablespoon chia seeds and golden flax seeds, half cup water.

It wasn't yuck at all...it was pretty darn good.

I'm on the road to healthy.

That sound like a great mix. I also had bought a greens mix the same...it was so easy to add a handful to drinks as well as toss a bunch on my dinner plate. Amazing how it just blends into a drink.

Thanks for the heads up nunu.. I'm headed to Costco for Super Bowl stuff but I'm going to look for that bag of "power" greens! I love to add frozen blueberries, some banana, unsweetened coconut milk and sometimes a bit of peanut butter, yummy!

Does it REALLY do just as good as of a job as a Vitamix?

YES! YES! YES! I also have a Vitamix. Now, I only use the VM for soups. For everything else, I use the NB *900*. It is just FABULOUS!

I have been using flavored kefir as a base for the morning green smoothie. I use less than a cup and add a bit of water. This makes a very creamy smoothie, and with frozen fruit even similar to a milkshake. One example is frozen cherries from Costco, cherry kefir, and the power greens.

Last week I bought cashew milk, which is 35 calories a cup. I am going to try that as a base soon.
